Our 49th 2008 Annual Book Fair will be held from September 24 through September 28 with a preview on the 23rd from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, and the sale through the 30th. It will be held at the Atlanta Perimeter Mall. For more information please contact Anna Rau-Bernhard
.
All books sold at the fair are donated and all sorting, pricing and sales are accomplished by member volunteers.
A Brief History of the Bookfair:
The Branches of AAUW started holding an annual book fair in 1960. That year the fair was in a tent on the open-air upper level of the brand new Lenox Square Mall. In 1973 the book fair moved into Lenox's newly enclosed, air-conditioned mall. In 1997 the book fair became a cooperative effort of the three branches in metro Atlanta:
Atlanta Branch
Cobb County Branch
North Fulton Branch
The Branches use the proceeds to fund:
AAUW Educational Foundation
AAUW Legal Advocacy Fund
Local Undergraduate Scholarships
Community Action Grants and Programs
