AAUW
North Fulton,
Georgia Branch
About Us
Our Mission: “AAUW advances equity for women and girls through advocacy, education and research.”
Vision Statement:
“AAUW will be a powerful advocate and visible leader in equity and education through research, philanthropy and measurable change in critical areas impacting the lives of women and girls.”
The American Association of University Women (AAUW), founded in 1881, is open to all graduates who hold the associates or higher degree from a regionally accredited college or university. In principle and practice, AAUW values and seeks a diverse membership. There shall be no barriers to full participation in this organization on the basis of gender, race, creed, age, sexual orientation, national origin, or disability. AAUW promotes equity for all women and girls, lifelong education and positive societal change.
The North Fulton Branch joins with other branches in Georgia to form the state organization. As of 2005, membership has been extended to graduates holding associate degrees or higher. The degree must still be awarded by a qualified educational institution.
The monthly meetings cover diverse issues relating to AAUW concerns. The Branch meets the second Monday of the month. For the Branch’s meeting schedule and more information, please contact Karen Leasman
